widening to hold it all
grief, anger, and joy within somatic practice
For over 6 years I have held a weekly online somatic learning space, called Anchor Community. The name felt prescient when everything solid suddenly came adrift in 2020, but we had this online haven. And for the past 6 years, with everything that has continued to happen, this community has been there. Some people have been there from the beginning, some come and go, and others have only recently found us, often through reading Returning Home to Our Bodies, which was published at the beginning of last year.
This is an edited section of a recent practice - I took out the sections where we share with each other, leaving just this part of the active practice. I think it’s helpful. You might too.
This 20 minute practice does not require any special tools or previous experience. You can practice seated or lying down, of if movement feels better, feel free to move as you wish.
