a Tarot reading for the new moon in Cancer

beauty is a force

Astrologers I love and trust are saying this is a particularly potent and beautiful new moon. The moon, the sun, and Jupiter are all in the sign of Cancer, where Jupiter, the planet of blessings and abundance, is exalted. The astrologers I listen to are saying we have a chance to move in to a world of our own beautiful imagining, even as we confront the ugliness that is so rampant.

This morning I drew a Tarot reading for this new moon using the Somatic Tarot, and the cards were a thing of beauty. At the center, The Empress, the archetype of femme and beauty as a force. On either side, The Luminary of Water (Page of Cups), who guides us into exploring our desires from a place of joyful curiosity, and The Hero of Earth (Knight of Pentacles) whose strength and vitality are of the earth, and for the earth. Framing it all was the Ace of Water (Cups), the card that says this is a moment to meet the present with an open heart.

If “clear eyes, strong heart, can’t lose” were a reading, it would be this one.
