A practice for the full moon in Libra

Tonight is the Pink Moon, the full moon in Libra. At 8:22pm EST, the moon in the sign of balance and justice, ruled by Venus and so always interested in aesthetics, is completely full. Whatever your opinion of astrology, when the moon is full the ocean tides are bigger (bigger still on the new moon, but since the new moon is less noticeable, full moons tend to get more attention). And if the moon has an effect on the ocean, then it stands to reason that being creatures made of mostly water, the moon would have an effect on us.

Libra is said to rule the kidneys. Libra, represented by a scale, ruling the kidneys, the balanced pair of organs in the body. The kidneys maintain balance within the body, filtering waste, making sure there is neither too much or too little sodium and fluid in the bloodstream. Libra, the sign of justice, is considered the sign that seeks to maintain balance by both nurturing beauty and rooting out injustice.

So tonight, with the moon full in Libra, I am offering a glimpse into my forthcoming project The Body Oracle* (the name might change before it reaches publication) that will be released with North Atlantic Books in August, 2026.
